Official Logo/s for DDR Team Philippines

Here are the two proposed team logos for DDR Team Philippines which I am a member of. The group is consists of DDR Players from all over the country. Kuya Paulino actually asks us to choose which one will be the official logo for the team. This was prematurely discussed last May 2009 during the first DDR Camp for the Team. I personally like the 2nd one. The first one is nice but the second is more detailed. And he's going to make an official shirt for the group so I guess the 2nd one will be nice in a black shirt. If we will decide to have the first one, it's good with black too..but I still would choose the 2nd one hahaha..

The Masked Warriors: JabbaWockeeZ

Yesterday after work, my friend texted me to watch ASAP XV on tv because the JabbaWockeeZ were to perform in the said show. Of course as a dancer, I am totally excited to see them, and as always they never fail to awe me with their performance.

Well for anyone who doesn't know who they are (I think no one though hahaha), JabbaWockeeZ was well known for being the first dance crew to claim the inaugural title of America's Best Dance Crew in MTV. Now what's the fuss? Just like any other famous crews in the world, this crew has it's Filipino members (proud to be Pinoy!). The group is well known for intricate synchornization, isolation and well known for their motiff (masks and gloves). It's a good tactics since you will not know who is who while they are dancing on stage. 5 of them are Filipino by blood, including Joe Larot and Phil Tayag, the group's founders.

They are to perform in Cebu next week I guess and damn I don't have a chance to watch them live..well I got work. And I've heard ABS-CBN is looking for the next Supahdancer (too bad auditioners are only allowed until the age of 20) and rumors say that he/she will dance along with the JabbaWockeeZ, much to my frustrations hahaha..

And I want this shirt!!!!!

Animolympics 2010 Headlines: Cheering and its issues

It's been two years after I became an alumnus of USLS, my Alma Mater. Since I got out of college life and entered the professional world, I never had another chance to visit my school after graduation. But I was able to go back two weeks ago to witness one of the most exciting events we had, a tradition not only for our school I think but all of the schools here in our country. Some may commonly regard it as Intrams (short for intramurals) but our school calls it "Sportsfest". This year, my brother had a chance to be one of the coordinating students to host the event and named it as their own "ANIMOLYMPICS".

What's funny (and irritating to listen to) this time is the never ending "bangayan" between my college NURSING versus ARTS and SCIENCES which started last year when the latter was not able to grab the grand slam title for the Cheering competition because the former grabbed the title. This year Nursing won the competition again and of course as expected, all the "reklamo" and "suya" are still going on..fierce than ever. From the props, to the allegations that Nursing had a trainer for the squad..the possibilities for such allegations are endless. Everytime a Nursing cheer routine video is posted in Youtube..here are the CAS students mocking and commenting crap on it..hehehe i really find it funny.

Anyways I don't mind about that anymore (I'm also a RED PHOENIX SQUAD alumnus..cheering squad for my college)..it's just petty quarrels I guess..it's just a trophy hahaha..Another thing is that since this year there were no trainers allowed for each squad..and I just wondered why The Artians did not do the cheering routine and just their other CAS colleagues? Is it because of the conflict that they have with PESAR (governing body/ department for sports in my school) or because they will not be having their trainer choreograph them for this year? hmmmm intriguing issue (I've heard that one Artians dancer quoted "Indi kami gusto mahuy-an")..hahaha big question mark. I will also quote this from a friend "kung perde permi man may reklamu, kung daog daw mga tikalon" (she is not from Nursing nor CAS)

Congrats to my squad, you made it twice in a row..as all of us are advising you--keep your feet on the ground..and they will make sure to grab the title next year so that you won't get the grand slam too..hahaha just play the game fair =)

To CAS, congrats for grabbing the overall 1st runner up. Strive for more, since we Nursing students had already tasted how to be CHAMPIONS overall during the 2006 Sportsfest =) Peace Out!

To my bro, job well done..I've seen you panic that time but you did it..hehehe and congrats to the College of Engineering for winning the Cheerdance competition fot the Nth time. Go ENG'G!

Caite vs. Janina..the Q&A battle!

I just remembered putting this down because I'm totally excited for the next season of Amazing Race 16..in which one of the ladies featured in this post will be one of the contenders for the race around the world ($1 Million, baby!!!!)

I'm not a real fan of beauty pageants but I came across these two individuals who left us laughing after they were infamously titled as two among the many beauty queens who had "slipped their tongues" during their Q&A portion on their respective pageants. Meet Caitlin Upton of Miss Teen USA 2007 (4th Runner Up) vs. our very own Janina San Miguel (Miss Philippines World 2008).

Lauren Caitlin Upton - Miss Teen USA 2007 for South Carolina

Aimee Teegarden (judge): "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"

Caitlin: "I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our children"

Janina San Miguel - Binibining Pilipinas World 2008

Vivienne Tan (judge): "What role did your family play for you as candidate to Binibining Pilipinas?"

Janina: "Well, my family's role for me is so important, because there was the wa-- they're, they was the one who's... very... haha... Oh I'm so sorry. Umm, my pamily... my family... Oh my God. I'm... Ok. I'm so sorry. I... I told you that I'm so confident. Eto, umm, wait... Hahahaha! Umm, sorry guys because this was really my pirst pageant ever, because I'm only 17 years old and... haha... I, I did not expect that I came from-- I came from one of the top 10. Hmmm. So... But I said dot my pamily is the most important persons [sic] in my life. Thank you."

I still prefer the latter, she was really caught off guard on this. It was just an easy question but then due to stage fright I guess..she couldn't. I remember the days where I religiously watch her on Youtube for the Q&A portion of the pageant. It was hilarious! Anyways, I'm rooting for Caitlin this time in Amazing Race 16 on AXN Asia this Feb 15. I better mark my calendar...

"I don't feel any pressure (long pause)...right now..." - Janina (LOL!) peace

New World Record! Much more envy.....

Remember my blog about Pikabellchu? the girl with the largest collection of Pokemon merchandise in the world? well someone has beaten her already..and it's a new world record!

Lisa Courtney, 21, of United Kingdom is officially recognized by Guinness World Records and awarded a spot in the Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer's Edition. Obtained over a span of thirteen years, Lisa's collection features 12,113 separate items. She says she is thankful for her family have been incredibly supportive considering her collection takes up almost all of the house including her mom's room. She even called a her room for all of her collection "Pokemon Center Europe".

Now I'm thinking, when will I be able to get my own collection like this? hahaha oohh I envy her!

Barney & Friends alumna gets Golden Ticket: American Idol

Watching American Idol especially during audition weeks is kinda fun. You always get to the see the best, and the worst among thousand of American auditioners. You see the crazy antics from contestants, and of course Simon's brutal and bitter comments.

So what's interesting in last nights episode? Dallas auditioner Erica Rhodes seems to be a familiar face. Have I seen her somewhere? that kept me from thinking until Ryan Seacrest introduced her as the former jolly kid from Barney and Friends. Hahaha, and I knew she was very fmailiar. My little bro at home has a collection of Barney DVds which he watches every now and then, morning til night (actually irritates me, I can almost memorize all their songs already).

And is she a good girl gone bad? The innocent girl from that dinosaur show turned up in a dominatrix attire with a whip while singing her rendition of En Vogue's "Free Your Mind." The judge's called her performance "gutsy" for she changed her image and it was a smart choice of both style and song choice. And she got her golden ticket all the way to Hollywood. I'm gonna root for this girl =)

Catfight @ Idol's Judges' Table

Honest, brutal, but cute. This is how I describe Katy Perry as she was the guest judge for Los Angeles auditions on American Idol last night. She was fierce with the auditioners and to a fellow judge too..hehehe. She's going to throw a can of Coke in Kara's face? I wanna see that..lol.

She should be included in the regular panel of judges, well that's my opinion.

Bringing a New Beat from a Classic

Two days ago I just downloaded a song pack from Zenius-i-vanisher.com for my Stepmania program at home (DDR or Dance Revo simulator, yes I can play it on my PC) and this is called DanceDanceRevolution Disney Grooves for Wii system featuring classic Disney movie hits in new rhythm and beats ..now one of the songs that caught my attention is the rock/reggae rendition of "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" which was originally a mellow song from Lion King. It's really cool how they innovated the song into something new. Here's a video (actually I don't know how to embed a music player here..hehehe) There's also a new rendition for it's a small world in that game.

"Are you ready for Season 6?"

A quote taken from Cat Deeley, host of the "American Idol counterpart show", from a commercial that I've seen lately in AXN Asia. This is So You think You Can Dance on its 6th season which will start tonight, Jan 25, at 9PM on the said cable channel. Its a reality dance show which showcases the best of America's dancers and revealing at the finale America's favorite dancer. He or she must be the most versatile dancer ranging his fields not only to his specialty but to the least genre that he could ever imagine. Some to mention are Hiphop/Krump, Contemporary, Pop Jazz, Ballroom (Samba, Rumba, Tango and the like), Bollywood..an so on...

Although I already knew who was the winner for this season (yes, we are always late in broadcast..except for American Idol..well that's good to hear), it's still a different feel if you see each of their performances choreographed by msot renowned choreographers in the world, to mention some, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson..etc. Well it's gonna be one hell of a good season just like the previous ones..and just to give you a clue..the winner is a Krumper (hiphop style)

Pokemon Addict!!! not me but her...

I remember writing down a blog before in my Multiply account about Pikabellechu, a 32 year old lady who holds the title holder for Guinness Book of World Record. she was featured in the 2009 Gamers Edition of Guinness Book of World Records for having the most number of Pokemon collectibles, up to 8000 in number...

I was shocked the first time i read this news..surprised and amazed for the devotion of this girl in collecting every Pokemon merchandise you can imagine..and i call myself a Pokemon fanatic? huhuhu

And this is what I want to have, and she has this one too..it's called a Pikabug.. =)

A series of reunions.. (after 10 years..huwat??)

December is the month of the year where reunions and homecomings are very common. It has also been a tradition for me and my classmates in college to do a simple gathering and have a Christmas party of our own. Of course it has only been 2 years since we graduated from college, so most of us still has our contacts with each other. We had our small party @ Mavi's place last December 30, played Pinoy Henyo til midnight (haha nerdy game i guess) but it was fun.

Prior to that, SJHS, my high school, had it's alumni homecoming last Dec 26 in which I attended with my former HS classmates. The day after that we had our runion party @ Korean Grill Bar. My 3rd year adviser, Lota, and Broden (school director, cool!) were there too..

It was a first time for my grade school classmates to decide that we should have a reunion too. Even with only a few of us were there, it's a good thing that we have decided to meet up. There were really big changes, and all of us are professionals no. I can still remember us before, kids which used to play tag or hide and seek during recess period, and laughing at our angry teachers everytime we do our "kabalastugan" inside the classroom..well it's reasonable, we're kids then. Aizel and Patricia went home from Manila so it was a good timing for us to do a simple reunion.

A Merry Xmas indeed..

(This blog was created way back Christmas day 2009..)

I had the most wonderful time of the year this year..it's a bit redundant since it's Christmas and the song says it is the "most wonderful time of the year". After 3 years, the whole family got to eat Noche Buena again together since my dad went home after long years of work in Saudi (he will be back there but not so soon).

My dad called me up a week before Christmas that he will have his flight back in Bacolod via Dubai direct to Cebu City last Saturday Dec 19. He arrived early morning of Sunday (which I was at work) so we met up in the afternoon. That afternoon was also the first time after a few years that the whole family had a day out (ate at Pizza Hut and had family grocery ..last time i remember our family had grocery was way back when I was in grade school hahaha)

Another thing happened, and that is she came to my life..no need to explain she knows how much I love her..It's the best way to end the year hehehe =)

Escapades in Cebu and Bohol

The last quarter of 2009 was the months of travel, food and fun for me, Edzel and Janah..not too mention expensive too..but we never get to worry..we are rich and famous as they said hahaha

First stop during the last week of October (24th to 27th to be exact) was Cebu and Bohol. This is actually the second time I had been in these places before (Bohol way back in 2000 - I was on my 6th grade when I joined a national science workshop and Cebu in 2007 during the regional finals for Groove and Move). but this time I just went there with friends to have a short break from the stress world of our jobs.

Most unforgettable for this trip was our Skywalk experience at the highest tower in Cebu which is the Crown Regency Hotel and Towers. It was a first time experience, expensive but worth it. some places we went to were the historical Magellan's Cross and Colon Street, Mactan Island's Lapulapu Shrine, IT Park and hotel hopping (Waterfront, Hilton, Microtel), and the Taoist Temple.

oh..and I forgot to mention..MOOON Cafe..best food..yum2x

Next stop was Bohol..it's almost 9 years since I went back to that place..but nothing changed, Bohol is still a very beautiful island especially with the Chocolate Hills around (one of the possible Wonders of the World). I have to meet my cutest brothers too..the Tarsier..i really missed them..After arriving, we had lunch in Loboc River's floating restaurant and an overnight stay in Bohol Beach Club. Before going home to Bacolod, we had our final stop in Dumaguete just to have a quick breakfast..don't wanna go home on an empty stomach.

It's time to ice the enemies: Mafia Wars!!!!!

Quoted from Wikipedia.org: " Mafia Wars is a multiplayer browser game created by Zynga"..."The game revolves around doing and mastering jobs in order to earn cash and experience, with the goal of establishing and advancing one's criminal empire. Players create mafias by recruiting players and using reward points to hire extra mafia members. Social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Friendster allow players to recruit from within their network of friends to build their mafia and fight against other players. Players can also improve their stats by visiting the Godfather or making a micropayment."

I've been addicted to FarmTown before (take note, "have been")..and I mentioned that everyone is into Mafia...well I ate my words hehehe I am currently working on leveling up my Fearless character in the Zynga game of goons and guns.

well what interest me the most with this game is a RPG game..you have to level up, allocate skill points with your basic attributes (HP, energy, attack, defense, etc) as most RPG games are. Special events also happen once in a while especially during holidays and special movie releases. three classes are introduced in the game FEARLESS (faster regeneration on stamina for fights), MANIAC (faster energy regeneration for jobs) and MOGUL (fast earners, money thirsty players).
I'm currently working on my level 200+ Fearless character. And I'm happy to say I already finished the New York City Tier jobs..haha might be easy for some players but it was a struggle for me, honestly..took me about 3 weeks to finish only one tier (Boss level..each job only gives 1% mastery..and there are 12 jobs in one tier..whew!)

I'm also a member of Chizborjer Gang, an all Filipino group in which we update each other with what's new with the game..
